DESCRIPTION

The REX 521 Feeder Protection Relay provides your medium-voltage network with efficient protection, measuring, supervision and basic control functions. The typical REX 521 appli cations include incoming and outgoing feeders in isolated neutral, resonant earthed, solidly earthed and resistively earthed systems.This state-of-the-art protection relay comple ments the ABB range of solutions from basic protection relays to intelligent feeder terminals for distribution system applications. REX 521 provides your network with standard protection functions such as three-phase overcurrent, non-directional and directional earth-fault, thermal overload protection and phase discon tinuity protection. Additionally, the relay supervises power quality in your network by measuring harmonics.

Main Functions

Overcurrent protection: provide three-stage three-phase non-directional overcurrent protection to ensure that the circuit can be cut off in time when the current is abnormal, preventing equipment damage.

Ground fault protection: with three-stage non-directional ground fault protection function, effective response to ground faults, to ensure the safe operation of the power system.

Other protection functions: including three-phase discontinuity protection, three-phase cable thermal protection, three-phase transformer surge and motor start-up current detection, etc., comprehensively protect the power system from various faults.
